Seat Pan Cover And Padding, Removing And Installing, Seat Pan Without Seat Depth Adjuster: Removing

  • Follow all Safety Precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
  • Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

-- Remove the front seat:

-- Attach the front seat to the Engine/Transmission Holder - Seat Repair Fixture VAS6136. Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove the front backrest. Refer to FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD SEAT/SPORT SEAT/SUPER SPORT SEAT .

-- Remove the sill side trim retaining bracket.

-- Versions with LATCH (passenger seat only): Remove the LATCH. Refer to FRONT CHILD SEAT ANCHOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disengage the front and side areas -A- and -B- of the cover retaining channel -3-.

-- When disengaging the cover, be careful of the exposed retaining hooks -1- on the edge -2-.

-- Disengage tab retaining channels -1- at both sides of the seat pan -3-.

-- Disengage the cover retaining channel -6- in the area -A-.

-- When disengaging the cover, be careful of the exposed hooks -4- on the edge -5-.

-- Remove the cover with padding from the seat pan.
