Tires, Checking Wear Pattern
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 18 other vehicles, including the 2016 Audi S4, 2016 Audi A4 Quattro, 2016 Audi A4, 2015 Audi S4, and 2015 Audi A4 Quattro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
For safety reasons, all tires on the vehicle should be of the same make and tread design.
On AWD vehicles, always use tires of the same make and tread design. If not, the center differential can get damaged.
-- Check the tire wear pattern on the front wheels. Not the following points when doing this:
- Feathered edges of the treads may indicate faulty toe adjustment.
- One-sided tread wear is mostly caused by faulty camber.
NOTE:
If there are such wear patterns: determine the causes by checking the wheel alignment (repair measure).
