Brake Pads, Checking Thickness

WARNING:

Replace the brake pads once they have reached the wear limit. Perform the repairs and inform the customer.

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

NOTE:

Use the thin measuring pin (brake symbol) to measure the brake pad thickness.

-- Slide the sliding ring all the way in the direction of the measuring point.

-- Place the tip of the test pin on the brake rotor.

-- Slide the test pin evenly in the direction of the brake pad until the test pin touches the brake pad backing plate.

-- Carefully remove the test pin and read the value on the scale.

NOTE:

Make sure the sliding ring does not move, otherwise the measurement will be incorrect.

It is required to remove the wheels for specific tire combinations. Refer to WHEEL BOLTS, TIGHTENING .
