Knock Sensors

Removing

WARNING:

Fuel system is under high pressure! Before opening high pressure components of the fuel injection system, pressure must be relieved to residual pressure. Refer to BEFORE OPENING HIGH PRESSURE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM .
Then wrap a clean rag around the connection and relieve residual pressure by carefully loosening the connection.
Observe safety precautions when disconnecting the battery. Refer to WARNINGS AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

4 - Knock sensor (KS) 1 -G61-

NOTE:

Remove fuel injector 2 to reach the bolt for the knock sensor (KS) 1 -G61- -4-.

-- Remove the intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD, UPPER SECTION .

-- Remove the lower right intake manifold section with the fuel rail. Refer to LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD WITH FUEL RAIL .

5 - Knock sensor (KS) 2 -G66-

NOTE:

Remove fuel injector 2 to reach the bolt for the knock sensor (KS) 2 -G66- -5-.

-- Remove the intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD, UPPER SECTION .

-- Remove each intake manifold section with the fuel rail. Refer to LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD WITH FUEL RAIL .

Installing

-- Install the removed knock sensor.

NOTE:

Tightening specifications affects function of knock sensor (KS).

Tightening specification, refer to IGNITION OVERVIEW

-- Install the lower intake manifold section with the fuel rail. Refer to LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD WITH FUEL RAIL .

-- Reinstall intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD, UPPER SECTION .
