-- Remove the left and right front muffler. Refer to FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING for engine code CALA .
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- from the ATF pipes.
-- Remove the plenum chamber bulkhead. Refer to OVERVIEW - BULKHEAD .
Place a clean cloth under the separating point to catch the escaping ATF.
-- Remove the bolts -1- and -2-. Then pull the ATF pipes off the transmission and tie them up.
-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set VAS6122.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and the bolt -1- and push the right catalytic converter to the right side.
The illustration shows the installation position with the engine removed.
-- Remove the bolts -2 through 5- connecting the engine to the transmission. They are accessible from above.
-- Secure the right catalytic converter from falling down by securing it with a loose nut on the exhaust manifold.
-- Place the Engine Support Bridge10-222A with the Engine Support - Basic Set- Connection T40091/3 on the left and right suspension strut tower, as shown in the illustration.
-- Engage the Engine Support Bridge - Spindle10-222A/11 on the right engine lifting eyes.
-- Install the remaining parts of the Engine Support Bridge10-222A as illustrated. Place the Engine Support Bracket T40093/3 on the notches in the longitudinal member.
-- Attach the Engine Support Bridge - Spindle10-222A/11 on the left front engine lifting eye and slightly tension the engine.
