  • For the ATF change interval. Refer to appropriate FLUID CAPACITY TABLE information in MAINTENANCE article. .
Lubricant For the correct ATF for the "multitronic 0AW FWD", refer to appropriate FLUID CAPACITY TABLE information in MAINTENANCE article.
CAUTION:

Danger of causing damage to the transmission.

  • The continuously variable transmission multitronic 0AW requires a different ATF than shift automatics. Only use the ATF for the "multitronic 0AW, FWD" transmission which is available as a replacement part.

Front Final Drive

Initial filling Approximately 1.1 liters

  • No change
  • Permanent fill: only fill after repair, up to 1.1 liters.
Lubricant
  • Different axle oils for Multitronic 0AW
  • Note the allocation of the axle oils according to the transmission code letters. Refer to appropriate FLUID CAPACITY TABLE information in MAINTENANCE article.
CAUTION:

Danger of causing damage to the transmission.

  • Beginning approximately in September 2008, a new axle oil for the "Multitronic 0AW, FWD" transmission will be used in the factory. This transmission has an filler plug with an internal torx; this transmission also has a new transmission code.
  • All transmissions before the change-over are filled with the former axle oil. These transmission have a filler plug with an interior hex head.
  • Do not mix the axles oil, not even in small quantities. This will cause the sealing rings to leak.
  • Note the allocation of the axle oil and the filler plug according to the transmission code. Only axle oil for "multitronic 0AW" which can be obtained as a replacement part must be used in front final drive. Refer to appropriate FLUID CAPACITY TABLE information in MAINTENANCE article.
