Torque Converter Seal, Removing And Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Puller - Seal Lever VW681 or Puller - Crankshaft/Power Steering Seal T20143/2
Seal Installer - Torque Converter T10137

Procedure

-- Torque converter, removing. Refer to TORQUE CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Pry out the shaft seal using the Puller - Seal Lever VW681.

NOTE:

The illustration shows a different transmission.

-- Apply ATF to circumference and sealing lips of shaft seal.

Installation position: the open side of the seal faces the transmission.

-- Install the shaft seal for the torque converter all the way onto the Seal Installer - Torque Converter T10137.
