Starter, Removing And Installing, Vehicles With 2.7L And 3.0L TDI Engine: Removing

-- With the ignition switched off, disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the front exhaust pipe. Refer to EXHAUST PIPES/MUFFLERS .

-- Remove the generator: without parking heater (refer to GENERATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH 2.7L AND 3.0L TDI ENGINE WITHOUT PARKING HEATER ), with parking heater (refer to GENERATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH 2.7L AND 3.0L TDI ENGINE AND PARKING HEATER ).

-- Remove the right engine mount. Refer to RIGHT ENGINE MOUNT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -1- and -2-.

-- Press the lower right coolant pipe to the side.

-- Remove the nut -1- and free up the ground cable on the engine support.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the right engine support.

-- Disconnect the connector -3- by sliding the retainer back and pressing the release down.

-- Disconnect the wire -2- from the starter.

-- Remove the bolts -1- and -4- and remove the starter.
