Overview - Center Differential Housing

The center differential housing can also be removed and installed while the transmission is installed. Refer to CENTER DIFFERENTIAL HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING

Center Differential
- Servicing only by the manufacturer
Pressure Spring
Shim
- for bearing preloading the ball bearings for the center differential
- Selecting thickness. Refer to BEARING PRE-LOAD, RECALCULATING, CENTER DIFFERENTIAL BALL BEARING .
Plate Spring
- Installed position: the camber on the inner diameter faces toward the flange shaft
Spacer Sleeve
- Removing. Refer to Figure
- Installing. Refer to Figure
Circlip
- For the flange shaft
- Removing and installing. Refer to Figure.
Ball Bearing
- For the flange shaft
- Removing. Refer to Figure
- Installing. Refer to Figure
Shaft Seal
- Pry it out. Refer to Figure
- Installing. Refer to Figure
Rear Flange Shaft
- Without vibration damper
- Allocate correct components.
- Removing. Refer to Figure
- Installing. Refer to Figure
Rear Flange Shaft
- With vibration damper
- Allocate correct components.
- Removing. Refer to Figure
- Installing. Refer to Figure
Bolt
- 24 Nm
- for vibration damper
- Quantity: 3
- install with Locking Fluid AMV 185 101 A1
Vibration Damper
- Not present on all versions
- Allocate according to transmission code.
Center Differential Housing
