Selector Shaft Seal, Replacing: Removing

-- Select 1st gear.

-- Remove the rear noise insulation by loosening the fasteners -2 and 3-

-- Remove the nut -1-.

Ignore item -2-.

CAUTION:

Danger of causing damage to the gearshift shaft inside the transmission.

Do not pry off the transmission shift lever -1- using a pry bar or hit it with a hammer.
Use only the Puller - Gear Shaft Linkage T40160 to pull the transmission shift lever off.

-- Install the Puller - Gear Shaft Linkage T40160 and remove the transmission shift lever.

-- Pry out shaft seal with Puller - Crankshaft/Power Steering Seal T20143/1.

Check the selector shaft for damage.
