Overview - Selector Mechanism

- For the shift lever support, refer to -item 11- Shift Lever Support.

- Selector Lever
- Offset faces toward rear
- Lubricate (grease) the tip-pressure guide and shift lever contact surfaces
- Grease the contact surfaces for the joint, refer to -item 12- Joint Piece
- Spacer Tube
- Grease the outer circumference
- Shift Lever Support (See Fig 1)
- Removing and installing. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Do not lubricate
- Joint Piece (See Fig 1)
- Between the selector rod and shift lever
- Grease the contact surfaces for the shift lever
- Bolt

Danger of causing damage to the gearshift shaft inside the transmission.
- Do not pry the transmission shift lever off using a pry bar or hit it with a hammer.
- Use only the Puller - Gear Shaft Linkage T40160 to pull the transmission shift lever off.
- Removing. Refer to Fig 4
- Insert so that master spline aligns with shift rod
- Sealing Boot
- Ball Socket
- Grease the bearing area for the transmission shift lever as needed, refer to -item 20- Gearshift Lever.
- Bearing Bushing
- To remove, remove the clip, refer to -item 26- Clip.
- Connecting Rod
- To remove, remove the clip, refer to -item 26- Clip.

- The push rod -1- is attached to the right side of the transmission cover.
- The push rod -1- is attached to the left side of the transmission cover.
CAUTION:
Danger of causing damage to the gearshift shaft inside the transmission.
- Do not pry off the transmission shift lever -1- using a pry bar or hit it with a hammer.
- Use only the Puller - Gear Shaft Linkage T40160 to pull the transmission shift lever off.
-- Install the Puller - Gear Shaft Linkage T40160 and remove the transmission shift lever -1-.
