Refrigerant Temperature Sensor -G454-

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 18 other vehicles, including the 2016 Audi S4, 2016 Audi A4 Quattro, 2016 Audi A4, 2015 Audi S4, and 2015 Audi A4 Quattro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

NOTE:

Switch pressures, removing and installing switches as well as switch arrangement and version. Refer to vehicle specific refrigerant circuit OVERVIEW - REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT (vehicle-specific repair information).

The refrigerant temperature sensor (with temperature-dependent resistance) is installed, for example, in the high pressure line in vicinity of the A/C compressor.

In the refrigerant circuit, there is a direct correlation between temperature and pressure. Should there be too little refrigerant in the refrigerant circuit, the temperature in the refrigerant circuit rises more strongly than intended for this pressure when A/C system is operating.

NOTE:

Installed for example on the Audi Q7 with specific engines. Refer to OVERVIEW - REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT (vehicle-specific repair information) and refer to appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAM.

The Climatronic Control Module -J255- evaluates pressure and temperature in the refrigerant circuit and switches off the compressor in the event the temperature increases above the value stored for this pressure. Refer to OVERVIEW - REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT (vehicle-specific repair information) and Vehicle Diagnostic Tester ("OBD" or "Guided Fault Finding  " for the "A/C system").
