Brake Rotor, Replacing, 1LA, 1LB, 1LJ And 1LD 1ZT + S4 /S5: Installing

Use new bolts.

Clean the brake rotor, wheel hub and contact surfaces before installing.

-- Place the brake rotor on the hub.

NOTE:

When positioning the brake rotor, do not tilt it on the wheel hub.

-- Install the securing bolt -arrow- and tighten.

-- Position the front brake carrier.

-- Install the bolts -3- on the front brake carrier and tighten.

NOTE:

Before inserting the brake pads, clean the retaining pin for the brake pads -arrows- and apply a thin layer of grease . When doing this, do not allow any grease to get on the rubber components. Clean the rubber components of grease.

-- Install the front brake pads. Refer to BRAKE PADS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 1LA, 1LB, 1LJ AND 1LD 1ZT + S4 /S5 .

NOTE:

After replacing the brake pads, press the brake pedal firmly several times while the vehicle is stationary so that the brake pads are seated properly in their normal operating position.

-- Install the wheels.

Wheel bolt tightening specification. Refer to WHEEL BOLT TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS .
