Instrument Panel Central Tube, Removing And Installing: Installing
-- Carefully insert the instrument panel central tube -1- in the body.
-- Engage the instrument panel central tube on the A/C unit -3- and on the upper -2- and lower -4- stop brackets.
-- Align the instrument panel central tube -4- with the A-pillar.
-- Tighten the two nuts -2- and -3- on the stud bolt -1- and insert the stud bolt in the mount -5- on the driver side A-pillar and tighten.
- The stud bolt must be installed completely and the collar of it must make contact with the mount on the A-pillar.
-- Tighten the left and right instrument panel central tube bolts and nuts.
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, while noting the following:
-- Install the steering column. Refer to STEERING COLUMN .
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (for example, airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly, they may deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. There must not be anyone inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.
-- Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to GROUND CABLE WITH Battery Monitoring Control Module -J367-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
If the Airbag Indicator Lamp -K75- indicates a fault, check the DTC memory, erase it and check it again. Refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
