Spoiler, Removing And Installing

WARNING:
Spoiler must also be adhered with an additional adhesive sealing bead in addition to adhesive strips.
Only use Assembly Adhesive -D 172 090 A2- to install the spoiler.
Removing Roof Edge Spoiler
- Double Sided Adhesive Tape
- Remove protective paper just before installation.
- Adhesive Bead
- Assembly Adhesive -D 172 090 A2-
- Apply a 3 mm diameter adhesive bead.
- Audi RS 4: 4 mm adhesive bead
- Cut nozzle tip back accordingly.
- Roof Edge SpoilerCAUTION:
Rear lid and spoiler must be completely free of dust and grease in adhesion area.
- When removing, protect adjacent painted areas on lid with fabric reinforced adhesive tape.
- Heat the adhesion area on the lid using the Hot Air Gun VAG1416.
- Remove spoiler from rear lid begging with side.
- Completely remove adhesive residue from adhesive bands on rear lid.
- Cut back residual bead from adhesive on rear lid between adhesive bands.
- Before installing new spoiler, clean surfaces to be adhered with Cleaning Solution D 009 401 04.
- Wipe cleaned surfaces with paper towel.
- Apply adhesive over entire spoiler width between rear adhesive bands.

- Part of delivery package.
- Remove protective paper just before installation.
- Adhesive Bead
- Cut back the nozzle tip:
- Audi A4: 3 mm diameter
- Audi RS 4: 4 mm diameter
- Apply the adhesive added to the delivery package between the adhesive bands over the entire width of the spoiler.
- Place spoiler so that it comes in contact with and is centered on rear lid.
- Press spoiler down firmly beginning in center and working towards outside.
- Secure spoiler with adhesive tape while curing.CAUTION:
Vehicle must stay at room temperature at least 4 hours after spoiler is installed.
