Shock Absorber Fork, Removing And Installing: Installing

Installation is the reverse of removal, with special attention to the following:

-- Install the coupling rod. Refer to COUPLING ROD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Tightening specifications. Refer to OVERVIEW - SUSPENSION STRUT AND UPPER CONTROL ARM .

Tightening specifications. Refer to CONTROL ARM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

NOTE:

Version 1: When connecting, make sure the T-pin -arrow- engages in the groove on the shock absorber fork.

Version 2: When connecting, make sure the pin -1- engages in the groove -2- on the shock absorber fork.

Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent. Only tighten suspension screws when vehicle is in curb weight or control position.

-- Lifting wheel bearing to curb weight position. Refer to WHEEL BEARING IN CURB WEIGHT, LIFTING VEHICLES WITH COIL SPRING, FRONT AXLE .

-- On vehicles with automatic head lamp range control, perform headlamp basic setting. Refer to HEADLAMP, ADJUSTING .

-- If the Level Control System Sensor -- was removed and installed on a vehicle with electronically controlled damping or if the linkage was loosened, the control position must be reprogrammed using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. Refer to CONTROL POSITION, PROGRAMMING .

-- If the control position was reprogrammed on vehicles with lane assist, the Directional Stabilization Assistance Control Module -J759- must be calibrated again. Refer to LANE ASSIST, CALIBRATING .

-- Tighten the wheel. Refer to WHEEL BOLT TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS .

-- An axle alignment may be required. Refer to EVALUATING NEED FOR AXLE ALIGNMENT .
