Ball Joint, Removing And Installing: Installing

Installation is the reverse of removal, with special attention to the following:

-- Install the ball joint -1- into the wheel bearing housing -2- as far as the contact surface -arrows-.

NOTE:

If the ball joint -1- is not inserted up to the contact surface -arrows- then the threaded connection on the wheel bearing housing -2- could get damaged.

Tightening specifications. Refer to OVERVIEW - LOWER CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT .

-- Install the control arm. Refer to CONTROL ARM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Tighten the wheel. Refer to WHEEL BOLT TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS .

-- An axle alignment may be required. Refer to EVALUATING NEED FOR AXLE ALIGNMENT .
