CAUTION: Disconnect battery ground wire before working on electrical system.

On vehicles with Telematics, activate Telephone/Telematics Control Module J526 service mode before disconnecting Battery A → Service mode, activating/deactivating .

If the Battery A is reconnected, follow the procedure for disconnecting and connecting the Battery A → - 27 BATTERY, STARTER, GENERATOR, CRUISE CONTROL . Deactivate Telephone/Telematics Control Module J526 service mode → Service mode, activating/deactivating .

Description

RNS-E navigation system is an enhancement of the established navigation system II-D. The Board Computer Function Selector Switch E91 is integrated in the unit (MMI operation). A DVD (Europakarte) is used as a navigation CD.

Screen folds away. DVD drive and two card readers are located behind.

In addition to the navigation system, the RNS-E has a radio, two MP3 card readers and connections for Navigation/TV Tuner J415 and CD Changer R41. The DVD drive can play music CDs.

Diagnosis is performed using "Guided Fault-Finding".

Repairs on antenna wires → - 97 WIRING .

Repair to CAN bus lines → - 97 WIRING .
