Brake calipers, servicing

NOTE:
- When carrying out repairs install all parts supplied in repair kit.
- Apply thin coat of lithium grease G 052 150 A2 to brake cylinder, piston and seal.
1 - Self-locking bolt, 35 Nm
- Always replace
- Counter hold on guide pin when loosening and tightening
2 - Brake caliper housing with lever for parking brake cable
- Replace brake caliper housing if there is a leak at the lever for parking brake cable
- After repairing, pre-bleed brake caliper housing → Brake system, bleeding
3 - Bleeder valve
4 - Dust cap
- Install onto bleeder valve
5 - Sealing ring
- Removing and installing → Rear brake caliper piston, removing and installing
6 - Piston with automatic adjustment
- Removing and installing → Rear brake caliper piston, removing and installing
7 - Guide pin
- Lubricate before installing protective cap
8 - Protective seal
- Removing and installing
- Push outer sealing lip onto piston
9 - Protective cap
- Insert onto brake carrier and guide pin
10 - Brake carrier with guide pins and protective cap
- Replacement carriers are supplied assembled and with sufficient grease on guide pins
- If protective caps or guide pins are damaged, replace using repair kit. Use grease packet supplied to lubricate guide pins.
