1 - Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217

Installed location → Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217
Control module is checked with On Board Diagnostics (OBD)
Removing and installing → Transmission Control Module (TCM) J217 , removing and installing

2 - Hydraulic control module

Installed location Hydraulic control module
Valves are checked with On Board Diagnostics (OBD)
Removing and installing → Hydraulic control module, removing and installing

3 - Shift mechanism cover

4 - Tiptronic Switch F189

Location: Integrated into circuit board in cover of shift mechanism
Consists of 3 Hall sensors that are controlled by a magnet on the cover strip transverse slide.
If malfunctions at Tiptronic Switch F189 occur, check first whether magnet at control slide masking panel is properly secured and replace masking panel if necessary. Before replacing the printed circuit, check wiring.

5 - Shift lock solenoid N110

Installed location → Shift lock solenoid N110
→ Shift Lock Solenoid N110 (through VIN 8E_6A156499), removing and installing
→ Shift Lock Solenoid N110 (from VIN 8E_6A156500), removing and installing

6 - Data Link Connector (DLC)

Installed location Data Link Connector (DLC)

7 - Cruise Control Switch E45

Installed location → Cruise Control Switch E45
Removing and installing →

- 94 LIGHTS, SWITCHES - EXTERIOR for ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, CABRIOLET

8 - Park/Neutral Position (PNP) Relay J226 (up to 10.04) or Starting Interlock Relay J207 (as of 11.04)

Installed location → Power supply relay terminal 87/Starter Interlock Alarm System Relay J60 and Park/Neutral Position (PNP) Relay J226 (up to 10.04) or Starting Interlock Relay J207 (as of 11.04)

9 - Power supply relay terminal 87/ Starter Interlock Alarm System Relay J60

Installed location → Power supply relay terminal 87/Starter Interlock Alarm System Relay J60 and Park/Neutral Position (PNP) Relay J226 (up to 10.04) or Starting Interlock Relay J207 (as of 11.04)

10 - Transmission Range (TR) Display Y6

Installed location → Transmission Range (TR) Display Y6
A fully illuminated gear selection indicator indicates a simple malfunction
A blinking gear selection indicator indicates a critical malfunction
No indication on display points to a fault in wiring or a faulty Transmission Range (TR) Display Y6

11 - Kick Down Switch F8

Not a separate component, it adopts functions of Throttle Position (TP) Sensor G79 and Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 2 G185 in vehicles with gasoline engine, both are integrated in accelerator pedal module; component location → Kick Down Switch F8
Installed as one unit with Throttle Position (TP) Sensor G79 in vehicles with Diesel engine, this is integrated in the accelerator pedal module; component location → Kick Down Switch F8
Signal received in Engine Control Module (ECM), signal transferred from ECM to Transmission Control Module (TCM) via CAN-Bus
Removing and installing accelerator pedal module → 20 - FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM

12 - Brake Light Switch F

Installed location → Brake Light Switch F
Signal received in Engine Control Module (ECM), signal transferred from ECM to Transmission Control Module (TCM) via CAN-Bus
Removing and installing → 46 - BRAKES - MECHANICAL COMPONENTS
