Tiptronic switch F189, removing and installing

Comprises 3 Hall sensors actuated by a magnet on the transverse slide of sliding cover.
Also check that magnet is properly secured on transverse slide of sliding cover, replace sliding cover with guide if necessary.

Removing

Remove selector mechanism cover → Selector mechanism cover, removing and installing .

Press 4 locking hooks - arrows - inward and pull cover - 2 - off guide - 1 -.
Take printed circuit with integrated Tiptronic switch F189 out of cover.

NOTE:

If necessary, the sliding cover with the magnet for the Tiptronic switch F189 can be removed as described below. However, as a replacement part the sliding cover is only available together with the guide.

Remove sliding cover with magnet for Tiptronic switch F189.

Installing

Installation is performed in reverse sequence. Note the following:

Install selector mechanism cover → Selector mechanism cover, removing and installing .
Install selector lever handle → Transmission, installing (vehicles with 4.2 ltr. MPI engine) .
