Gear oil in front final drive, checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Procedure 

NOTE:
  • The vehicle must be on a level surface.

NOTE:
  • Loosen locking bolt using an angled socket-head wrench, but do not use hex ball socket 3247. For improved accessibility it may be necessary to remove the heat shield and drive axle and to set them aside.
  • If hex ball socket 3247 is used for loosening the bolt, it could be destroyed.

Oil level is correct when the front final drive is filled up to lower edge of oil filler hole.

NOTE:
  • Replace locking screw with seal.
