Checking ATF temperature

Connect tester VAS5051 to Data Link Connector (DLC) using diagnostic cable VAS5051/1 with ignition switched off.

Switch on tester (arrow).

The tester now requires up to 3 minutes to finish booting.

Switch on ignition.
Select operating mode: Press "Vehicle Self-Diagnosis" selection on display.
Press "02 - Transmission electronics" on display.
Perform dialog to confirm control module number belonging to selected system.

Select "08 - Read Measuring Value Block" on display.
Choose Display Group 4 via the "Read Measuring Value Block" and "Change Display Group" touch screen displays.

The first line of display field - 1 - displays ATF temperature.
