Drive flange assembly with mounted polygonal bearing
1 - Drive flange
2 - Needle bearing (polygonal bearing)
3 - Spacer ring
4 - Circlip
5 - Spacer ring - additionally installed if splined shaft diameter = 30 mm
NOTE:
- Polygonal bearings run roughly when drive flange is not installed. This does not indicate faulty bearings. An acoustic test can only be conducted when drive flange is installed.
- Look out for damages to polygonal bearings (e.g. cracks in outer race of bearing)
- Polygonal bearings can only be replaced together with drive flange.
- Drive flanges with a splined shaft diameter of 30 mm have a spacer ring -5- installed between polygonal bearing and planet pinion.
Installing
NOTE:
Repair rim offset 6.5 mm if employing used drive flange.
- Slightly oil circumference of oil seal.
- Drive in new oil seal for right drive flange 5.5 mm below surface of housing, taking care not to tilt it.
- Fill space between sealing lip and dust lip with sealing grease G 052 128 A1.
