Activation for Fresh Air Blower V2 and calculated Fresh Air Blower speed, voltage transmitted by Instrument Cluster Control Module J285 at terminals "58d" and "58s" (in %)

Display field Meaning Remarks
1 Activation for Fresh Air Blower V2 via Fresh Air Blower Control Module J126 as a % of maximum possible activation
  • Display = "0 to 5 %"
  • Fresh Air Blower V2 switched off
  • Display = "12 to 88%"
  • Fresh Air Blower V2 in control mode
  • Calculated by operating and display module, Climatronic Control Module J255
2 Speed in RPM calculated by operating and display module, Climatronic Control Module J255 via speed signal transmitted by Fresh Air Blower Control Module J126 at Fresh Air Blower V2
  • Any deviation from the specified speed is determined by the Fresh Air Blower Control Module J126 and signalled to the operating and display module, Climatronic Control Module J255 (display group "018")
NOTE:
  • The Fresh Air Blower Control Module J126 is integrated into the Fresh Air Blower V2 and cannot be replaced separately at present.
  • Activation for the Fresh Air Blower V2 is calculated by the operating and display module, Climatronic Control Module J255 on the basis of the measured temperatures and the settings made.
  • The Fresh Air Blower speed is transmitted by the Fresh Air Blower Control Module J126 to the operating and display module, Climatronic Control Module J255.
Display field Meaning Remarks
3 Voltage transmitted by Instrument Cluster Control Module J285 at terminal "58d"
  • Display = "0 to 100%"
  • Display as a % of maximum possible voltage
  • Depending on setting of Instrument Panel Illumination Dimmer Switch E20
  • Data are transmitted via the CAN-Bus comfort system
  • The voltage at terminal "58d" controls the illumination of the operating and display module, Climatronic Control Module J255 displays.
4 Voltage transmitted by Instrument Cluster Control Module J285 at terminal "58s"
  • Display = "0 %"
  • With side lights off
  • Display = "1 to 100%"
  • Side lights on
  • Display as a % of maximum possible voltage
  • Depending on setting of Instrument Panel Illumination Dimmer Switch E20
  • Data are transmitted via the CAN-Bus comfort system
  • The voltage at terminal "58s" controls the illumination of the operating and display module, Climatronic Control Module J255 buttons (switches)
  • If display is "0%", buttons (switches) are not illuminated
NOTE:
  • With the ignition switched on, the voltage at terminal "58d" for display illumination is always output by the Instrument Cluster Control Module J285. In daylight, 100% may always be displayed depending on the brightness to which the instrument cluster photosensor is exposed.
  • At present, the voltage at terminal "58s" for illuminating the buttons (switches) is only output by the Instrument Cluster Control Module J285 with the side lights switched on (regardless of whether ignition is on or off). In daylight, 100% may always be displayed depending on the brightness to which the instrument cluster photosensor is exposed "Guided Fault-Finding" Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing Info.
