Driveshaft Heat Shield - Tightening Specification

-- Tighten the right driveshaft heat shield bolts -1- to 23 Nm.

²⁾ Bolt strength rating 10.9 There is no limit to the number of times the steel bolt can be used again.

⁴⁾ Audi A4 through VIN 8K-9A-066499, Audi A5 through VIN 8T-9A-007999: Replace the aluminum bolts.
⁵⁾ Audi A4 from VIN 8K-9A-066500, Audi A5 from VIN 8T-9A-008000: Aluminum bolts may be used two times. Refer to TRANSMISSION TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS - AUDI A4 FROM VIN 8K-9A-066500, AUDI A5 FROM VIN 8T-9A-008000: THE ALUMINUM BOLTS -2 THROUGH 11- MAY BE USED TWO TIMES. THEREFORE, THE BOLTS MUST BE MARKED WITH TWO NOTCHES "X" MADE BY A CHISEL AFTER THEY HAVE BE USED THE FIRST TIME -ARROW-. .

⁽¹⁾	To prevent damaging the bolts when marking them, do not clamp them in a vise. Insert the bolt using a 14 mm socket with a /₂ drive, which is inserted in to the vise, as illustrated.
