Selector Shaft, Cleaning

- End cover is removed. Refer to END COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Transmission Control Module -J217- is removed. Refer to TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
NOTE:

Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
-- Clean the selector shaft locking device -arrows-. Use a lint-free cloth. Clean the contact surfaces for the solenoids very thoroughly of any metal shavings or similar debris.
NOTE:
Make sure that the spring -1- and the roller -4- are secured properly.
-- Check the roller -4- and spring -1- for damage; replace if necessary.
