Input Shaft, Checking For Wear

  1. 3 - Lining Plates
  2. 6 - Press Plate
    • Checking for wear. Refer to appropriate service information. .
  3. 7 - Piston
    • Checking for wear. Refer to appropriate service information. .
  4. 8 - Cover
    • For the input shaft
    • Checking. Refer to appropriate service information. .
  5. 10 - Ball Bearing
    • Replace the ball bearing after removing the input shaft cover
    • For the input shaft
  6. 11 - Input Shaft
    • Check running and sealing surfaces for wear. Refer to appropriate service information. .
    • Checking for signs of wear on the lining plates. Refer to appropriate service information. .
  7. 13 - Oil Pipe
    • Checking for wear. Refer to appropriate service information. .

-- Remove the piston -1- from the press plate -2-.

Check the Press Plate -2- : 

-- Check the press plate running and sealing surfaces -arrow A- for wear.

-- Check the press plate running and sealing surfaces -arrow D- for wear.

Checking the Piston -1- : 

-- Check the seal -arrow B- on the outer edge of the piston -1- for damage.

-- Check the running surface -arrow C- on the inner edge of the piston -1- on the shaft.

-- Check the input shaft running and sealing surfaces -arrow A- for wear.

NOTE:

The shaft seal in the input shaft cover seals on this sealing surface -arrow A-.

Light wear grooves from the shaft seal are normal.

-- Check the running surface -arrow B- on the input shaft ball bearing inside the input shaft cover for wear.

-- Check the shaft seal -arrow C- on the input shaft for damage.

-- Check the inner edge of the input shaft cylinder for wear grooves from the lining plates -arrows-.

-- Check the seal -1- on the oil pipe for damage.

-- Check the running surfaces -arrows- and rotor blades -arrow A- on the oil pipe for wear and damage.

-- Check the contact surface on the oil pipe in the suction jet pump

-- Check the contact surface on the cover -arrow- and the cover for damage.

-- If the contact surface or the cover are damaged, then replace the input shaft cover.
