Input Shaft, Checking For Wear

10 - Ball Bearing
- Replace the ball bearing after removing the input shaft cover
- For the input shaft
11 - Input Shaft
- Check running and sealing surfaces for wear. Refer to appropriate service information. .
- Checking for signs of wear on the lining plates. Refer to appropriate service information. .
13 - Oil Pipe
- Checking for wear. Refer to appropriate service information. .

-- Remove the piston -1- from the press plate -2-.

Check the Press Plate -2- :

-- Check the press plate running and sealing surfaces -arrow A- for wear.

-- Check the press plate running and sealing surfaces -arrow D- for wear.

If running or sealing surfaces -arrow A- show grooves, scratches or scoring, press plate -2- must be replaced.
If running or sealing surfaces -arrow D- show grooves, scratches or scoring, the press plate -2- and the piston -1- must be replaced.

Checking the Piston -1- :

-- Check the seal -arrow B- on the outer edge of the piston -1- for damage.

-- Check the running surface -arrow C- on the inner edge of the piston -1- on the shaft.

If the gasket -arrow B- is damaged or the piston running surface -arrow C- shows grooves, scratches, scoring or uneven thickness from wear, then piston -1- must be replaced.

-- Check the input shaft running and sealing surfaces -arrow A- for wear.

NOTE:

The shaft seal in the input shaft cover seals on this sealing surface -arrow A-.

Light wear grooves from the shaft seal are normal.

-- Check the running surface -arrow B- on the input shaft ball bearing inside the input shaft cover for wear.

-- Check the shaft seal -arrow C- on the input shaft for damage.

If the shaft seal -arrow C- is damaged or the running surfaces -arrow B- or -arrow A- on the input shaft show severe scoring or grooves, then the entire input shaft must be replaced.

-- Check the inner edge of the input shaft cylinder for wear grooves from the lining plates -arrows-.

If there are wear grooves on the inner edge of the input shaft cylinder from the lining plates -arrows-, then the entire input shaft must be replaced.

-- Check the seal -1- on the oil pipe for damage.

The seal must have a gap -arrow B-.
If the gap -arrow B- is completely closed, the oil pipe must be replaced.

-- Check the running surfaces -arrows- and rotor blades -arrow A- on the oil pipe for wear and damage.

If the seal -1- or the rotor blades -arrow A- are damaged or the contact surfaces -arrow- show deep scoring or grooves, then the oil pipe must be replaced.
The O-ring -2- must be replaced.

-- Check the contact surface on the oil pipe in the suction jet pump

-- Check the contact surface on the cover -arrow- and the cover for damage.

The contact surface must not show any damage.
The input shaft cover must not be broken or cracked.

-- If the contact surface or the cover are damaged, then replace the input shaft cover.
