Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory, checking

- Connect vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS5051. Refer to Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS5051, connecting and select functions and select vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" in selection. Engine should be idling.
NOTE:
If the engine will not start, crank it for at least 5 seconds with the starter and leave the ignition on.
Display on VAS5051:
- Under -1- select diagnostic function "02 - check DTC memory".

A - If malfunctions were recognized:
- Print out screen content or On Board Diagnostic (OBD) report.
- Exit function "02 - check DTC memory" by pressing ← button.
Display on VAS5051:
- Repair DTC(s) as specified in DTC table. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) table .
- Reselect diagnostic function "02 - Check DTC memory" and erase the DTC memory. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory, erasing .
- Select diagnostic function "06 - End output" in selection. Refer to Ending output .
B - If no malfunction was recognized:
- Select diagnostic function "06 - End output" in selection. Refer to Ending output .
