NOTE:

Before Fault Finding, check the DTC memory on the Transmission Control Module -J217- using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Also check the DTC memory on the engine control module, since engine control module error messages can lead to transmission malfunctions.

Use "Guided Fault Finding" on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Furthermore, use all of the "Technical Service Bulletins" in the Technical Service Handbook (HST).

To evaluate complaints and pictures of damage, use Self Study Program EX 335 "multitronic" Part 2.

Check the ATF level before starting Fault Finding. Refer to ATF LEVEL, CHECKING .
