Engine Oil Cooler, Removing And Installing: Removing
If large quantities of metal particles or abraded material are detected during engine repairs, it may mean the crankshaft or rod bearings are damaged. To prevent damage, perform the following steps after completing the repair: carefully clean the oil channels and replace the oil spray jets, the oil cooler and the oil filter.
Oil injector jet for piston cooling. Refer to Fig 1.
-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to NOISE INSULATION .
-- Open and then close the coolant expansion tank to reduce the pressure in the coolant system.
-- Clamp off the coolant hoses using the Hose Clamps - Up To 25mm:3094 as shown.
-- Remove the coolant hoses from the oil cooler.
-- Remove the oil pan/engine oil cooler bolt -arrow-.
-- Place the Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit:SMN372500 under the engine.
-- Remove the bolts -1 through 4- and remove the engine oil cooler.
