Overview - Clutch

  1. Flywheel
    • Make sure it fits securely on the centering pins
    • There must not be no grooves, oil or grease on the clutch plate contact surface.
    • Removing and installing. Refer to appropriate service information. .
  2. Clutch Plate
    • Allocation. Refer to the Parts Information.
    • The "transmission side" label, if present, points toward the pressure plate.
    • Lightly grease the splines
      NOTE:

      Clean the input shaft splines and the hub splines, remove corrosion and apply only a very thin coating of Grease for Clutch Disc Shaft Splines:G 000 100  onto the input shaft splines. Then move the clutch plate back and forth on the input shaft until the hub moves freely on the shaft. Remove any excess grease.

  3. Pressure Plate
    • Removing and installing. Refer to CLUTCH, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
      NOTE:

      The pressure plates are corrosion-protected and lubricated. Only the running surfaces may be cleaned, otherwise the service life of the clutch will be shortened considerably.

  4. Bolt
    • 20 Nm + 90° turn
    • Loosen and tighten the bolts in small steps diagonally
  5. Centering Pins
    • Make sure they fit correctly
