Oil Pan Lower Section, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Hold the engine in its installed position. Refer to ENGINE, SUPPORTING IN INSTALLED POSITION

-- Remove engine bracket nuts at left and right -arrow-.

-- Raise engine until engine supports are above threaded engine bracket pins and tension all spindles evenly to achieve even weight distribution.

-- Position the Engine/Gearbox Jack:VAG1383A  on the bottom of the subframe.

-- Secure the subframe with the Assembly Carrier Locating Pins:T10300  . Refer to SUBFRAME

-- Remove the bolts -4- and carefully lower the subframe with the Engine and Gearbox Jack:VAS6931  (VAS6931 supersedes VAG1383A, Images may show VAG1383A).

-- Remove the engine carrier bolts -3- and place the engine carrier on the subframe.

NOTE:

Ignore -item 1-.

-- Disconnect the connector on the Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266- -item 1-.

-- Place the Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit:SMN372500  under the engine.

-- Drain the engine oil.

-- Remove Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-.

-- Remove lower section of oil pan -arrow-.

-- Rotate the oil pan upper section 180° and remove it toward the front.

NOTE:

When removing the oil pan lower section, keep in mind that there is still some oil in it.
