Oil Pump, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the transmission.
-- Remove the flywheel.
-- Remove the sealing flange on the transmission side. Refer to SEALING FLANGE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TRANSMISSION SIDE .
-- Loosen chain sprocket bolt -arrow- approximately 1 turn. Counter hold at the vibration damper with the :T10172 when doing this.
-- Turn the engine on the vibration damper to the adjusting markings.
- Milled drive chain sprocket tooth must align with bearing joint -arrow A-.
- The marked hole -arrow B- must be aligned with the marking on the oil pump.
This position is reached at every fourth turn.
-- Mark the position of the timing chain to the oil pump chain sprockets with a water resistant marker.
-- Remove chain tensioner for camshaft timing chain -arrow-.
-- Detach the chain tensioner with a 3 mm hex socket wrench -A-.
-- Remove the tensioner for the oil pump drive chain -arrows-.
-- Remove the chain sprocket bolt and then remove the chain sprocket and timing chains from the oil pump.
-- Remove the bolts from the oil pump -arrows-.
-- Remove the oil pump evenly from the retaining tabs -arrows-.
