Oil Pump, Removing And Installing: Installing

NOTE:

Do not tilt the oil pump when installing it.

Replace the O-ring and the bolt for the chain sprockets.

Use locking fluid when installing the oil pump bolts.

-- Install the oil pump, insert the nuts -arrows- using locking fluid and tighten. Tightening specification -item  ) OVERVIEW - OIL PAN/OIL PUMP - BOLT.

-- Position the crankshaft at Top Dead Center (TDC).

-- Turn oil pump shaft -1- with the flat side -arrow- horizontal to marking -2- on the oil pump.

-- Initially only install the rear chain on the large chain sprocket. Observe the previously made markings.

-- Place the chain on the crankshaft and place the chain sprocket on the oil pump shaft. The marked hole -arrow B- must be aligned with the marking on the oil pump.

-- If the chain sprocket cannot be installed, rotate the oil pump shaft slightly.

-- Carefully remove the chain sprocket from the oil pump and tilt it slightly up. Install the camshaft timing chain in this position. The markings made during removal must align.

-- Reinstall the chain sprocket on the oil pump shaft and tighten by hand.

-- Install the lower chain tensioner and tighten with 8 Nm -arrows-.

-- Remove hex socket wrench -A-.

-- Install the chain tensioner for camshaft timing chain -arrow-.

-- Check the markings one more time.

-- Tighten the chain sprockets to 60 Nm + 1 /4 (90°) additional turn. Counter hold at the vibration damper with the :T10172  when doing this.

-- Install sealing flange. Refer to INSTALLING .

Assembly is performed in reverse order.
