Oil Pan, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Drain The Engine Oil.
Observe disposal regulations!
-- Support the engine in its installed position. Refer to ENGINE, SUPPORTING IN INSTALLED POSITION .
-- Remove the subframe. Refer to SUBFRAME .
-- Remove engine carrier. Engine mounts can remain attached to engine carrier.
-- Drain the engine oil.
-- Remove bolt -arrow- on ATF line bracket.
-- Disconnect the connector -2- on the Oil Level Thermal Sensor -G266-.
-- Free up electrical wiring harness on oil pan.
-- Remove the transmission/oil pan bolts -arrows-.
-- Loosen and remove the oil pan bolts -1- in a diagonal sequence.
-- Remove the oil pan bolts on the transmission side -arrows- using the :T40159 through the openings in the transmission.
-- Carefully pry the oil pan from the cylinder block.
-- Remove sealant residue from cylinder block with a flat scraper.
-- Remove any sealant residue from the pan with a rotating brush, for example, using a hand drill with a plastic brush attachment (wear eye protection).
-- Clean the sealing surfaces, they must be free of oil and grease.
