Heater Core, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Turn off the ignition.

-- Open the cap on the coolant expansion tank and release the pressure in the coolant system. Refer to COOLANT [For engine(s) CGRA] .

-- Bring the rear heater and Air Conditioning (A/C) unit into the service position. Refer to REAR HEATER AND A/C UNIT, SERVICE POSITION .

-- Disconnect the connectors from the heater and A/C unit -arrows-.

-- Remove the bolts -A- and the upper cover -B-.

-- Mark both coolant hoses -A and B- to the rear heater core -C- (to prevent interchanging them).

-- Disconnect the coolant hoses -A and B- to the rear heater core -C- (for example, with :3094  ).

-- Remove the heater core -C- from the heater and A/C unit.

-- Cover the area under the heater and A/C unit with absorbent paper to prevent leaking coolant from running onto the heater and A/C unit or floor covering.

-- Place a container under both connections on the heater core -C- and clamp the coolant hoses.
