Heater And A/C Unit, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the left rear wheel housing liner. Refer to appropriate service information .

CAUTION:

The cooling system is under pressure when the engine is warm. Risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.

Scalding the skin and other parts of the body is possible.

- Wear safety gloves.

- Wear protective eyewear.

- Reduce the pressure by covering the coolant expansion tank cap with a cloth and carefully opening it.

-- Disconnect the coolant hoses with the :3094  and separate them from the hose connections.

VEHICLES WITH REFRIGERANT R134A 

-- Drain the refrigerant circuit. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .

VEHICLES WITH REFRIGERANT R1234YF 

-- Drain the refrigerant circuit. Refer to appropriate service information .

Continuation For All Vehicles 

CAUTION:

Danger or frostbite due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

Frostbite on the skin and other parts of the body is possible.

- Wear safety gloves.

- Wear protective eyewear.

- Extract refrigerant and open the refrigerant circuit immediately.

- If more than 10 minutes elapse after extracting the refrigerant and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Evaporation can cause pressure to develop in the refrigerant circuit.

-- For all the following work, close the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the :VAS6122  .

-- Remove refrigerant line bolts (12 Nm) and remove refrigerant lines from retaining plate.

-- Remove retaining plate bolts (10 Nm).

-- Remove the side trim panel on the left side of the luggage compartment. Refer to appropriate service information .

-- Disconnect the connector from the second heater and A/C unit.

-- Remove the bolts (8 Nm) -A-.

-- Remove the heater and A/C unit.
