Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82-, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install In Reverse Order Of Removal. Note The Following:
Secure the hose connections with clamps. For the correct clamp. Refer to the Parts information..
Make sure this parts do not come in direct contact with the vehicle body or any other parts.
The coolant flow direction is marked on the Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82-.
-- Be sure the coolant hoses are connected correctly to the Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82-.
-- Interchanged coolant hoses can result in failure of the passenger compartment heater due to the incorrect flow direction of the coolant.
-- Coolant hoses that are bent cannot allow enough coolant to flow causing the passenger compartment heating to fail.
-- Check the coolant level and bleed the coolant system. Refer to COOLANT [For engine(s) CGRA] .
Function
- The Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82- is activated via the A/C system controls only at certain settings (for example, when "OFF" is selected or when maximum cooling is required). The engine RPM must be below 5000 and the coolant temperature must be below 95 °C (203 °F).
- Shutting off the coolant circuit to the A/C heat exchanger accelerates the engine warming up when the coolant is cold.
- The Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82- is open without activation. To be able to check the electrical function of the valve, activation occurs at certain intervals (for example, brief activation lasting approximately 1 second at every twentieth engine start).
