Hydraulic Press - Bushing Assembly Tool Kit :T10230
Hydraulic Press:VAS6178 with Bearing Installer - Wheel Hub/Bearing Kit- Adapter 13:T10205/13
Engine/Gearbox Jack Adapter - Wheel Hub Support:T10149
Pneumatic/Hydraulic Foot Pump:VAS6179
Torque Wrench 1332 40-200 Nm :VAG1332
Tensioning Strap:T10038

Pressing Out the Bonded Rubber Bushing

WARNING:

Before starting work, stabilizer bars must be coupled in vehicles with decoupling stabilizer bars. Otherwise, there is the danger of injury caused by unintentional coupling.

-- Remove the wheel.

-- Remove the lower control arm -2- from wheel bearing housing, remove bolt -1- to do so.

-- Install wood block between control arm -arrow- and wheel bearing housing.

WARNING:

Without this wood block inserted, there is the danger of injury when lower control arm moves back to initial position.

-- Install tools onto the wheel bearing housing, as shown in illustration.

CAUTION:

Before pressing out, place the Engine and Gearbox Jack:VAS6931 with the universal mount under the cylinder since the cylinder may fall down at the end of the pressing out procedure.

-- Press out the bonded rubber bushing.
