Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Torque Wrench 1410:VAG1410
The pressure retaining valve is maintenance-free and may only be replaced in the case of a noticeable leak.
The vehicle must be on a hoist to exchange the pressure retaining valve. The vehicle wheels must rotate freely.
With the air spring shock absorber removed, no additional preparation is needed for replacing the pressure retaining valve.
NOTE:
The pressure retaining valve is open when the air line is screwed into the air spring shock absorber. If the air line is disconnected from the air spring shock absorber, the pressure retaining valve is closed.
WARNING:
- The vehicle must be on a lifting platform to replace the pressure-holding valve. The vehicle wheels must rotate freely.
- If vehicle is not raised with a hoist, vehicle sinks immediately on side where the pressure retaining valve was removed. There is a strong risk of injury because the arms can be clamped.
- The vehicle must remain on the lifting platform until a new pressure retaining valve is installed and the air spring shock absorber is refilled.
