Hybrid Battery Unit -Ax1-, Removing And Installing: Installing
Be careful not to get any wires or connectors caught under the battery when inserting the Hybrid Battery Unit -AX1- into the vehicle.
-- Lift the Hybrid Battery Unit -AX1- in the center using a short lifting belt and the :VAS6100 back into the vehicle and align it with the mounting holes in the body floor panel.
-- Install both right brackets with the four bolts -3- to the Hybrid Battery Unit -AX1-.
-- Tighten the bolts -3- to 23 Nm.
-- Fasten the Hybrid Battery Unit -AX1- with the eight bolts -2-.
-- Tighten the bolts -2- to 23 Nm.
Be careful not to damage the foam seals on the air supply duct when removing and installing the ducts and make sure the separating points are completely sealed.
-- Insert the air supply duct into the mounts on the Hybrid Battery Unit -AX1- -1- at the front and then lock it in the retainer -2-.
Check the contact surfaces on the potential equalization cable before installation.
The contact surfaces must be clean. There must be no rust or grease on them.
Otherwise, clean the contact surfaces using the :VAS6410 . Refer to .
-- Attach the potential equalization cable (ground cable) to the Hybrid Battery Unit -AX1- using the bolt -1-.
-- Tighten the bolt -1- to 9 Nm.
-- Secure the potential equalization cable (ground cable) again with a cable tie -arrow- to the Hybrid Battery Unit -AX1-.
-- Connect both connectors -3 and 4- making sure they audibly engage.
-- Attach both connectors -1 and 2- of the Battery Regulation Control Module -J840- until they can be felt engage.
-- Engage the connectors -1 and 2- to the Hybrid Battery Unit -AX1- mount and then press the wires into the wire holder.
-- Install the tire mobility kit and the vehicle tools.
-- Install the luggage compartment floor. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANELS .
-- Restart the high voltage system and complete the required documentation. Refer to RESTARTING THE HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
