Wheel Bearing, P/N 7P6 407 XXX, Removing And Installing: Removing: Notes

-- Remove the drive axle. Refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install upper control arm on wheel bearing housing.

-- Remove the brake caliper and engage on body with wire. Refer to FRONT BRAKES, SERVICING .

-- Remove the brake rotor and backing plate.

-- Remove the ABS speed sensor.

Wheel Hub, Removing

-- Attach Bearing Installer - Wheel Hub/Bearing Kit - 1:T10205/1 -1- to the wheel hub using the wheel bolts -2-.

The wheel bolts -2- must not protrude on the back side of the Bearing Installer - Wheel Hub/Bearing Kit - 1:T10205/1 -arrow-.

-- Mount the tools as illustrated.

Hydraulic Press:VAS6178 with Bearing Installer - Wheel Hub/Bearing Kit- Adapter 13:T10205/13

CAUTION:

Before pressing out, place the Engine and Gearbox Jack:VAS6931 with the universal mount under the cylinder since the cylinder may fall down at the end of the pressing out procedure.
Hold the Hydraulic Press:VAS6178 firmly while pressing out.

-- Pull out wheel hub, hold tool securely.
