Removing

NOTE:

The central harness connectors -5- are on the D-pillar.

-- Remove the rear lid trim panel. Refer to REAR DOOR TRIM PANELS .

-- Disconnect harness connectors -arrows-.

-- Remove the high-mounted brake light. Refer to High-Mounted Brake Lamp Bulb -M25- .

-- Pull the lines -3- and hoses -4- out of the rear lid -1-.

-- Loosen the bolts -3- at the left and right hinges. Do not remove.

A second technician is required for the rest of the removal procedure.

-- Depending on the equipment, remove the gas-filled strut -2- or remove the rear lid drive motor -2-. Refer to GAS-FILLED STRUT or REAR LID DRIVE MOTOR .

-- Remove the bolts -3- and the rear lid -1-.

NOTE:

Do not kink or pinch the lines -4-.
