Gaskets, Seals, And O-Rings

Replace the O-rings, sealing rings and seals.
Once a seal or gasket has been removed, check contact surface on housing or shaft for burrs and damage and repair as necessary.
Before installing a sealing ring, apply a thin coating of ATF to the periphery and the sealing lip depending on the installation location.

Only use ATF in the ATF area. Other types of lubrication cause faults to occur in the transmission hydraulics.
The open side on the seals faces the oil.
Check the ATF level. Refer to ATF LEVEL, CHECKING AND FILLING .
