TV Tuner. Removing And Installing: Removing:

-- If the control module is replaced, select the "Replacement" function for the appropriate control module in "Guided Fault Finding".

Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester to do this.

Perform the following steps:

-- Turn off the ignition and all electrical equipment.

-- Remove the DVD Changer. Refer to DVD CHANGER. REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the center luggage compartment floor covering toward the rear.

-- Remove the lock carrier cover. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANELS .

-- Remove the tie downs/supports. Refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANELS .

-- If equipped, remove the right luggage compartment floor.

-- Remove the D-pillar trim panel, refer to D-PILLAR TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the retaining clip -arrow-.

-- Unclip the side panel trim on the side window and carefully press in direction of -arrow- slightly to the side.

-- Disconnect the harness connectors from the switches in the side panel trim. If necessary, unclip the interior lamp from the side panel trim.

-- Push the retainers outward -arrows-.

-- At the same time, remove the TV Tuner -1- from the bracket -2-.

-- Release and disconnect the connectors to the TV Tuner -1-.

-- Disconnect the fiber-optic cable from the TV Tuner and attach the Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective Caps:VAS6223/9 to the disconnected fiber-optic cable connection.

NOTE:

Fiber-optic cable is very delicate!

The fiber-optic cable must not be kinked or significantly bent!

The bending radius must not be less than 25 mm.

A kinked fiber-optic cable is no longer usable, data transfer via kinked fiber-optic cable is faulty!

Please do not remove the protective caps from the ends of the fiber-optic cable until the fiber-optic cable is connected to the intended unit.

-- If installed, release and disconnect all connectors on the Rearview Camera System Control Module -J772-.

-- If installed, release and disconnect all connectors on the Peripheral Camera Control Module -J928-.

-- Release and disconnect connectors -2- and -4- on the TV Tuner.

-- Disconnect the fiber-optic cable -3- from the TV Tuner and attach the Fiber-Optic Repair Set - Connector Protective Caps:VAS6223/9 to the disconnected fiber-optic cable connection.

NOTE:

-- Pull out and remove the bracket -1- with TV Tuner from the mounting points -arrows- in the body.

-- Remove the bolts -3- for the TV Tuner -1-.

-- Remove the TV Tuner -1- in direction of -arrow- from the bracket -2-.
