Installing

Tightening specifications. Refer to OVERVIEW - HIGH PRESSURE PUMP .

Install in reverse order of removal. Note The Following:

NOTE:

If the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276- or the high pressure pump must be replaced, the adaptation values of the regulator valve must be reset via the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester: guided functions, resetting the adaptation values of the fuel pressure regulator valve.

CAUTION:

Letting the high pressure pump run dry will damage it.

The high pressure pump must be filled with fuel before starting the engine for the first time.

NOTE:

Replace the gaskets and seals.

The fuel return line must not be bent, damaged or plugged

-- Install the high pressure pump toothed belt. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE PUMP TOOTHED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the high pressure lines. Refer to HIGH PRESSURE LINES, INSTALLING .

-- Install the intake manifold upper section. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Bleed the fuel system after installing the high pressure pump. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM, BLEEDING AND FIRST TIME FILLING .
