-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolts -1-. Just loosen bolt -3-.
Only vehicles with engine codes CASA and CASD have the vacuum line and bracket -2-.
-- Move the vacuum hose and bracket -2- to the side and remove the heat shield from the turbocharger.
-- Open the cover over the positive terminal clamp.
-- Turbo E-Positioner Service Kit:VAS6395/1 with the E-Positioner Service Kit - Expansion Kit Connection Cable:VAS6395/4-2 to the positive terminal "+" and to the negative terminal "-".
Procedure for E-Box:VAS6395A/1 :
-- Select the software version using the ↑ -item 5- and ↓ -item 6- buttons.
-- Press the v button -item 4- to confirm the software version.
In this example, Hella software -1- is selected.

- Make sure the correct software is loaded in the Turbo E-Positioner Service Kit:VAS6395/1 before performing the following procedure:
If the correct software is loaded, the following will be displayed on the E-box:VAS6395/1A (2 seconds after the voltage supply is connected):
- > 1. START
- 2. NEXT [>]
If the following appears in the display, then incorrect software has been loaded:
1. >TEST
