For Both E-Boxes:

-- Disconnect the Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724- connector.

-- Connect the Connection Cable:VAS6395A/2  to the Turbocharger Control Module 2 -J724- and to the E-Box:VAS6395/1A  .

-- Press the button -item 4- to continue.

Display on the E-Box:VAS6395/1A  :

NOTE:

If "[OK]" appears in the display, then the Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724- adjustment range is OK.

If "FAULT [OK]" appears in the display, tap the side of the Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724- housing several times with a screwdriver handle and then the button -item 4- to repeat the test.

-- Tighten the countersunk screws already installed in the E-Positioner Service Kit - Bracket:VAS6395/5  to 8 Nm.

CAUTION:

Measurement errors occur if the E-Positioner Service Kit - Bracket:VAS6395/5  was not attached correctly.

  • Use only the countersunk screws supplied with the bracket to secure it.
  • Do not loosen the bracket until the procedure is completed.

-- Press the button -item 4- to continue.

-- While determining the voltage, tap on the side of the Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724- housing with the handle of a screwdriver until the following appears in the display:

Display on the E-Box:VAS6395/1A  :

  1. X, XXX V
  2. [↑][↓][OK]

-- Write down the voltage.

NOTE:

If "FAULT [OK]" appears or if the voltage is less than 3.3 V or greater than 3.7 V, disconnect the E-Box:VAS6395/1A  and repeat the entire procedure. Refer to FOR BOTH E-BOXES: .

-- Adjust the Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724- using the ↑  -item 5- or ↓  -item 6- buttons so that the coupling rod is accessible for removal.

-- Remove the circlips -arrows- and disconnect the coupling rod.

-- Adjust Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724- using the ↑  -item 5- or ↓  -item 6- buttons so that the bolts for Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724- are accessible.

-- Disconnect the Turbo E-Positioner Service Kit - Wire Set:VAS6395/2  from the Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724-

CAUTION:

The voltage supply for the Turbo E-Positioner Service Kit - E Box:VAS6395/1A  must remain connected.

-- Remove the screws -1, 2 and 3- and dispose of them.

-- Remove the old Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724- and dispose of it.

CAUTION:

Make sure there are 3 insulating washers between the Turbocharger Control Module 1 -J724- and the bracket.
