Control Housing
- Oil contact surface of sealing rings before installing
- Removing and installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
- Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - CONTROL HOUSING .
- Check the control housing strainer for soiling before installing. Refer to OVERVIEW - CONTROL HOUSING .
Seal
- Always replace
Oil Pump
- Removing and installing. Refer to OIL PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Bolt
- 8 Nm
- Insert with Locking Fluid: D 000 600 A2
Chain Tensioner
- 50 Nm
- For the camshaft timing chain -item ) PART I - CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN
- Only rotate the engine with chain tensioner installed
Seal
- Replace if damaged or leaking
Tensioning Rail
- For the camshaft timing chain -item ) PART I - CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN
Mounting Pin
- 10 Nm
- For tensioning track -item ) PART I - TENSIONING RAIL
Chain Sprocket
- For the timing chains
- Camshaft adjuster with camshaft timing chain, installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT ADJUSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Camshaft Timing Chain
- Mark direction of rotation before removing (installation position). Refer to Figure
- Camshaft adjuster with camshaft timing chain, installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT ADJUSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Bolt
- 60 Nm + ¹ /₄ (90°) turn
- Always replace
Exhaust Camshaft Adjuster
- Identification: 32A
- Camshaft adjuster with camshaft timing chain, installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT ADJUSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Bolt
- 60 Nm + ¹ /₄ (90°) Additional Turn
- Always replace
- Contact surface of sensor wheel at bolt head must be dry when installing
- Counterhold the camshaft with a 27 mm wrench when removing and installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
Intake Camshaft Adjuster
- Identification: 24e
- Camshaft adjuster with camshaft timing chain, installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT ADJUSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Bolt
- 10 Nm
Chain Tensioner with Tensioning Rail
- For the timing chain -item ) PART I - TIMING CHAIN.
- Only rotate the engine with chain tensioner installed
Drive Pinion
- Integrated in the crankshaft
- Ground down tooth faces bearing joint = TDC cylinder 1. For installing the oil pump drive timing chain. Refer to TIMING CHAIN FOR THE OIL PUMP DRIVE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Pin without Collar
- 10 Nm
- For Glide track -item ) PART I - GUIDE RAIL
Timing Chain
- Mark direction of rotation before removing (installation position). Refer to Figure
- Install the timing chain for the oil pump drive. Refer to TIMING CHAIN FOR THE OIL PUMP DRIVE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Mounting Pin
- 10 Nm
- For Guide rail
Bolt
- 23 Nm
Guide Rail
- For the camshaft timing chain -item ) PART I - CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN
Guide Rail
- For the timing chain -item ) PART I - TIMING CHAIN
- Together with the timing chain, removing and installing. Install the timing chain for the oil pump drive. Refer to TIMING CHAIN FOR THE OIL PUMP DRIVE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
High Pressure Pump Drive Chain Sprocket
- With needle bearing
- Coat the needle bearing with oil before installing
